- IHG points are valued around 0.5 cents/point (Hotel Points Value). Therefore, the 140k welcome offer is worth about $700.
- Receive a 40k Free Night (FN) certificate every year after your account renewal anniversary date. You can also use existing IHG points to redeem your FN at hotels above the 40,000 point redemption level.

Summary
Compared to other hotel groups, IHG has a strong presence in national parks and small towns. Since the revamp in March 2022, you can now redeem 40k FN with extra points to book higher-category hotels, significantly increasing the flexibility of the FN. However, this card is not ideal for everyday use because IHG points are not very valuable, making the 10k spending bonus less attractive. Keeping this card long-term equates to using $99 to buy a 40k FN, and its value depends on your travel frequency and preferences.
