Several credit cards offer 5% cashback in rotating categories each quarter. If you have a Chase Freedom Flex (CFF) (or Old Chase Freedom), Discover It, Citi Dividend, or US Bank Cash Plus cardholder, click the links below to activate your bonus categories:
The Chase Freedom card offers 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in spending per quarter.
The Discover it card also provides 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in spending per quarter. Categories are now published quarterly, similar to Chase Freedom. New Discover it cardholders earn double cash back for the first 12 months, resulting in 10% back on bonus category spending in the first year.
3. Citi Dividend: Restaurants and Citi Travel
The Citi Dividend card provides 5% cash back on a cumulative $6,000 in spending per year rather than per quarter. Though no longer available for new signups, existing accounts remain active.
The US Bank Cash+ card allows you to select two categories each quarter to earn 5% cash back, up to $2,000 in combined spending. Additionally, you can choose one 2% category every quarter. Activation is necessary for the 5% categories.
